Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Nice at 11 bis Rue du Congrès, EDMOND café #1 is a charming brunch and breakfast destination that invites locals and travelers alike to savor the very best of French café culture. Whether you’re craving a leisurely breakfast, a decadent brunch, or a sweet afternoon escape with cakes and tea, EDMOND café #1 perfectly balances tradition with a cozy, inviting atmosphere.

From the moment you step inside, the bustling energy buzzes with warmth and genuine hospitality. As customer Claudia Borges shared, the service here is impeccable — attentive, friendly, and personalized, with staff like Adam ensuring every guest feels truly welcome. The café quickly fills up, a testament to its popularity and the undeniable charm that keeps patrons coming back again and again.

The culinary offerings at EDMOND café #1 are thoughtfully curated to delight both your eyes and palate. Imagine savoring a classic Croque Madame, its layers of savory ham, creamy béchamel sauce, and perfectly runny egg crafted to golden-brown perfection. Pair it with a robust, freshly brewed coffee or a tangy, refreshing glass of orange juice for a breakfast experience that’s both comforting and indulgent.

For those who appreciate a beautifully plated brunch, the café impresses with hearty dishes like eggs accompanied by hash browns, earthy mushrooms, silky avocado, and a rich hollandaise sauce—each bite a harmonious blend of textures and flavors that dance on your tongue. Robert M’s praise of the Beirut Tarte highlights their skill in balancing richness without overwhelming sweetness, offering a refined yet decadently satisfying treat that feels truly special.

What sets EDMOND café #1 apart is its welcoming, low-key vibe that feels both relaxed and refined. Whether you’re indulging in a quiet solo celebration like Виктория Петрова or gathering with family as Carla Radford has made a tradition, the café's expansive portions and exceptional presentation ensure your meal is as memorable as the company. The staff’s thoughtful touches — like bringing a vase to keep your flowers fresh during your visit — create moments of genuine connection that elevate the entire experience.

If you love finishing your brunch with a sweet note, their patisserie delights, such as New York Cheesecake, are crafted to perfection—creamy, smooth, and just the right amount of sweet to satisfy your cravings without guilt. And with prices that feel surprisingly reasonable for the quality—S Day notes them as roughly half the cost you might find in the US or UK—EDMOND café #1 offers tremendous value wrapped in authentic French flair.

Whether you’re starting your day in Nice or simply seeking a cozy spot to unwind with expertly made beverages and delicious food, EDMOND café #1 offers a sensory journey worth savoring. My husband and I visited it on a Monday morning for breakfast and the service by Adam was great. He is was very attentive and friendly. The food is delicious. We had the Croque Madame, coffee, and orange juice. The place got packed after we arrived, so if you’re patient wait for a table. It’s worth it. When in Nice it’s a must go.

So, I had the sweetest most touching experience with this place! Yesterday was my birthday and part of my to do list was to have brunch by myself. From the very first greeting, the waitress was super kind and sweet! After she took my order, she came back with a vase to make sure my flowers will stay fresh which was really kind of her. Later, at some point the barista saw what I was painting. He was impressed by that and minutes later he brought complementary lattes (at that point my sister had joined me)! They didn’t even know it was my birthday but their service was really touching and it made my day! Later, he even took my hot chocolate to warm it up since it got cold while I was painting. I observed how they treated the other tables and it is safe to say that the service here is really one of the best I’ve experienced! This experience will stay forever as a highlight from my birthday! Edmond Cafe is a must visit when you are in Nice! It has become a tradition for our family to eat here when we visit. The portions are huge, the food is delicious, and the presentation is exceptional! Don't miss their beautifully crafted hot beverages! Tip: When you are finished eating just go up to the counter and pay. They will not bring you a check.

A little on the steeper side price-wise, but well worth it. Everything was absolutely excellent. I had some eggs with hash browns, mushrooms, avocado and hollandaise. It was on point and the flavours were perfectly balanced. After that I had the Beirut Tarte, which was the best tarte I've had in a very long time and easily one of the best I've ever had. Refined, rich and decadent, but not too sweet. There's nothing bad I could say about this place and Christine was an angel the entire time.

This is my default “brunch” Sunday or kill some time and take calls and enjoy bacon and eggs place. Food is rock solid and service is always with a smile and attentive. Low key, no stress and has NY Cheesecake for dessert if you must have it. Prices are 1/2 of what you’d spend in US/Uk (think Denny’s prices) but food quality is . Fresh eggs and bacon cooked to perfection. $14 for bacon, eggs and English muffin. (Which is high for local standards but…. Where else can you find American comfort food in Nice in such a central area with amazing service? Think last time I was at Denny’s in SF I paid 2x the price for 1/5 the service and quality. Big fan, and think you will be too!

We stopped into Edmond Café for a cappuccino after a late lunch. There are tables outside to sit at or else at any of the tables inside the spacious interior. Service is friendly and the menu of food options looked inviting although we did not try anything having come straight from lunch. The prompt attention from the team work f there and the clean, spacious interior are the reason for the four stars.

10 out of 5 stars, go out of your way to eat here! I wish I found this place at the beginning of my visit instead of the end. Croque madame was to die for - one of my favorite dishes of the week. It couldn't have been better and the brioche bread used was absolutely perfect. Salmon eggs Benedict also phenomenal - very fresh & flavorful. Our waitress was the sweetest woman and so welcoming. I adored her within minutes of sitting down. The place was very busy inside and outside but she still found time to chat with all the guests. When we were ready to pay, she let us know you pay inside, which is brilliant considering the spectacular dessert display as soon as you walk in the door. I had no intention of leaving with a slice of NY cheesecake but I couldn’t pass it up. It was AMAZING and had homemade whipped cream & berry syrup. The gentlemen working inside were all so nice. The staff truly made it a great experience on top of the incredible food and coffees. When I come back to Nice this will be the first place I return to!

Émond Café is an absolute gem for breakfast. The moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by a light, airy, and quaint décor that immediately sets a charming tone. The place was bustling with happy energy, yet still felt warm and inviting. Our waitress, Miss Christine, was such a sweetheart—attentive, kind, and always making sure we had everything we needed. The food arrived promptly, beautifully presented, and every bite was delicious. The freshly squeezed orange juice was a perfect touch of freshness, and the coffee… simply heavenly. Émond Café is the kind of place that makes you want to linger just a little longer, enjoying every sip and bite.
